Events & Wales Week / Iran

I'm always trying to find ways of spreading the Cymranian love - sharing the weird and wonderful, fun and fascinating. This website is a platform for people to tell their stories and to bridge links between Wales and Iran.

But the written word is often not enough. The people, the history, the scenery, the food, the culture, the future - they need to be brought to life. This is why I'm delighted to say that Cymranian is teaming up with Wales Week, a global platform that promotes Wales to the world. Every year, they hold dozens of events often hosted by household names and experts over a two-week period, a week before and a week after St David's Day.

Below are events we are holding for Wales Week Iran this year:

Celebrating and creating Persian calligraphy - Tuesday 24th February 2026, 5.30pm, Creative Quarter, Cardiff

We are delighted to invite you to a special, exclusive networking evening that celebrates Persian calligraphy.

Hosted by esteemed calligrapher and artist, Neda Mohammadnejad, you will be guided with the understanding of this form of art and to try it out yourself, taking home your piece of work. Special materials such as the ink and paper, coming directly from Iran, will be provided to enable your experience to be fully authentic.

Price: £20. Places are very limited. Book here.

A Cymranian celebration - Saturday 7th March 2026, 11am-4pm, Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea

Join us for a unique celebration of Welsh and Iranian cultures, bringing both together to promote their love and passion for traditional arts, culture, cuisine and other interests.

This is a free and open event at the iconic Dylan Thomas Centre, run by fellow Cymranians, for the rest of the world!
